Gypsy PDF Pattern

The Gypsy is a fun lantern-shaped backpack featuring a softly cinched top and a wonderfully distinctive silhouette.

With both small and large sizes included, you can create a compact backpack for a child or a larger version for an adult. Its combination of fabric and vinyl offers plenty of opportunities to play with colour, prints and contrasting textures.

FINISHED SIZES

Small:

• 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide

• 9 inches (22.9 cm) tall

Large:

• 10.5 inches (26.7 cm) wide

• 13.5 inches (34.3 cm) tall

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Small Backpack:

• Two 25 mm (1 inch) square rings

• One 25 mm (1 inch) strap adjuster

• Two size #5 zippers measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm) each

• Eight eyelets

• 0.3 m vinyl

• 0.3 m exterior fabric

• 0.5 m lining fabric

• 0.2 m firm interfacing, such as Hefty

• 0.5 m medium woven interfacing

• 0.2 m base stabiliser

Large Backpack:

• Two 25 mm (1 inch) square rings

• Two 25 mm (1 inch) strap adjusters

• Two size #5 zippers measuring 7 inches (17.8 cm) each

• Eight eyelets

• 0.4 m vinyl

• 0.4 m exterior fabric

• 0.6 m lining fabric

• 0.3 m firm interfacing, such as Hefty

• 0.6 m medium woven interfacing

• 0.2 m base stabiliser
